KC Chagnon Makes Saugeen Maitland History as 1st Ever Goalie to Score a GOAL!!!
Kaitlyn Chagnon (KC) showed why she is playing elite hockey, as she became the 1st ever Saugeen Maitland goalie to score a goal during the Bantam AA's game on Sunday December 29th versus the Windsor Wildcats!  Congratulations KC!!!

The game started slowly as the girls wore off some "turkey legs" that made them sluggish as the 1st period began. Newly rostered player Taylor Humphrey would get things going on a shot from the point, scoring her 1st goal since officially joining the Bantam AA team.  Madison Davey would pick up the assist at the 6:58 mark.  That would be it for the 1st period scoring.
The second frame had Windsor come on strong and tie it up before Delayna Smith would slip one in on a pass from Morgan Murray to re-gain the lead and end the 2nd period.
The 3rd would be all Lightning as the Wildcats just couldn't get one past Chagnon.  Megan Wilton put us up by 2 with assists going to Kailee Hewitt and Jennelle Smeltzer, before KC Chagnon would get the history making goal with 32.2 seconds left in the game on an empty net shot right down the middle.  That would end the game with a 4 - 1 victory for the Lightning.
The New Year brings the Lightning to Scarborough for the New Years Classic from Jan 3 - 5, and the Bantams will not play at home again until January 18th at 1:30 in Howick.  Come on out and see your Saugeen Maitland Lightning Bantam AA's in action!
