Peewee A Team Wins Ancaster Fall Shootout Tournament
The Peewee A team travelled to Ancaster this weekend for the Ancaster Fall Shootout and brought home the banner. The girls made it through the weekend undefeated despite some very close games which saw them digging deep to pull off the clean record.

After winning their first two games on Friday (2-0 win over Mississauga and 2-1 win over Bluewater), the team was in good standings heading into Saturday. However, it was game 3 (vs Brantford) of the round robin where the tournament lived up to its “shootout” billing as the girls had to battle back from a two goal deficit and eventually earn the win in a shootout. Their next 2-0 win over Ancaster guaranteed the team a first place finish and a berth in the championship game on Sunday.

The championship game on Sunday against the Bluewater Hawks was another exciting affair which saw the Maitland girls emerge as the victors, posting a 3-1 win. Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff on a successful tournament. Player of the Game honours this weekend went to Tyla Kauk, Grace Vokes, Ella Gratto, Carleigh Becker and Dayle Chinnick. Additional congratulations to both goalies for earning a shutout each; Keilee Buchanan (vs Mississauga) and Grace Vokes (vs Ancaster).
