Saugeen Maitland Intermediate A Win Provincial GOLD
Saugeen Maitland Intermediate A won Gold this weekend in Provincials winning the finals 2 -1 against Whitby. Saugeen trailed 1-0 after 2 periods but came back with 2 goals both from Julie Thomson in the third to take their first Provincial title.
Saugeen went 5 -1 in the provincials winning the Quarter Finals 1-0 against Mississauga in 2-  10 minute OT periods with Julie Thomson scoring in OT. Saugeen won the semi finals against Guelph 2-1 with Hailey Herman getting the game winning goal to send them to the finals. Saugeen held on for the last 35 seconds with a Guelph on a 2 player power play and their goalie pulled for a 6 on 3.

Saugeen Maitland Lightning was rated number 1 in Canada all season and ended up the season with the title  of Provincial Champions. Saugeen plays only tournaments and won 4 gold medals and a silver in the 6 tournaments they played in. 

The Intermediate A team just completed their 3 rd season and is proud to win this title in Saugeen Maitland Lightning's 20th year as an association.
