The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA lost a hard fought semi-final match in triple overtime against Pittsburgh in the semi-finals of the Sarnia International Silver Stick tournament this past weekend.

Bantam A - Saugeen opens playoffs with shut out tie

Saugeen travelled to Brantford to start the playoffs. In a hard fought battle both goal tenders stood tall and both earned the shut out!

Saugeen used their speed against Brantford and created many scoring chances. Brantford played a physical aggressive game to control the speed and ended up with 5 penalties. The Lightning could not convert but had many chances including a couple cross bars.

Brantford had a chance late in the game on an open net and twice could not convert. An outstanding game by goalie Erica Parker who earned the shut out.

The Saugeen Maitland Bantam AA Lightning started the play-offs the same way they finished the regular season, with a shut-out win.

The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA finished their regular season play with a 1-0 win against the Cambridge Roadrunners on Saturday.

15th Aniversary Celebration

Everyone had a great time at our anniversary celebration. We enjoyed reminiscing with old friends and catching up with life’s paths our players have taken. Spectators were treated to a fast paced, end to end action filled alumni game feature alumni players and players from each of our current teams.

A special thanks goes out to Brenda Yourth for organizing our anniversary event and to all our volunteers for helping make the night such a success.
