Win, Lose & Tie For Lightning

The Saugeen Maitland Midget Lightning AA had a win, lose and a tie in Lower Lakes league play this
weekend. On Friday, the Lightning
were outworked and outscored by the Waterloo Ravens and lost 3-0. On Saturday, the Lightning rebounded
and beat the first place Sarnia Sting when Laura Irwin heroically scored the
winner with 3 seconds left in the game off a faceoff win from Laken Smith. Sunday, saw the Lightning
battle back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the Brantford Icecats 2-2. Goal scorers in the weekend games were
Brooklyn Irwin, Marcie Landman, Laura Irwin and Hannah Davidson. Gina Murray (2),
Laken Smith, Landman and Sara Gossell picked up the assists.
