A short handed Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA team had their
undefeated streak end at 12 games when they were beat 2-0 by the Cambridge
Roadrunners on Friday in Lower Lakes League play.
The Lightning lost their second consecutive game when they ran into a hot goalie from the Bluewater Hawks and lost 1-0 on Saturday.
The Lightning managed to come up with two wins this past week. On Tuesday, they beat the visiting Stratford Aces 4-0 and then on Sunday Saugeen edged the Windsor Wildcats 2-0. Shea Tiley picked up the shutout against Stratford while Stephanie Sluys stopped all the Windsor Shots.
Goal scores the past week were Laura Irwin (2), Dollee Meigs (2), Hannah Davidson and Brittany Butcher. Assists were awarded to Miranda Lantz (2), Davidson (2), Lexi Smith, Abbey Gibson, Meigs, Butcher and Brittany Hymers
