Lightning Qualify for Final Four
March Madness continues for the Saugeen Maitland Bantam AA Lightning as they advanced to the Final Four of the Lower Lakes league playoffs with a pair of wins over the London Devilettes

The Lightning showed very little rust after a week away from the rink for March Break, taking the series opener by a 5-3 score over London.  Scoring for the Bolts were Tori Terpstra with two, Ashlee Lawrence, Neve VanPelt and Miranda Lantz.  Lexi Smith, Avery Reeves, Maddie Duncan, Ciara Lark, Nikki Zabel, Lantz, Terpstra and Lawrence all garnered assists.   In game 2 of the Western Division Final, the Lightning exhibited perhaps their best team game of the season, ending the Devilettes season in a 3-0 shutout.  Lantz paced the scoring attack with two goals and an assist.  Lawrence also delivered, scoring on a break-away late in the third period to ice the game.  Jamie Simpson, Lawrence and Terpstra were also awarded assists.  Morgan Baker made some key saves to earn the shut-out in net.  The Lightning now play in a round-robin style tournament against the other three division winners next weekend in Mississauga for the Lower Lakes league championship.  Follow the Lightning at www.saugeenmaitlandlightning.com.
