Lightning go to the Semi's in the Oshawa Fall Classic
The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Pee Wee AA team travelled to Oshawa this past weekend for the Oshawa Fall Classic Tournament.
The girls took to the ice against the Guelph Thunder for their first game this season. Although they came away with a 2-0 loss, the Coaches and parents were very happy with the way the girls played together. Great job by our goalie KC!
The 2nd game on Friday was played against Nepean Wildcats. The girls had their first win of the season beating the Wildcats 4-2. Our forwards skated hard and passed well. Also a great job by our Defence!
The girls, Coaches and parents/grandparents had a chance to bond further Friday evening at the hotel with a Pot Luck meal and a fun contest!
Saturday we came up against Toronto Leaside. The girls came out strong and won the game 3-1. By winning this game we ensured a spot in the Semi-Finals Sunday morning against the Clarington Flames. Although the game was 1-0 at the end of the 2nd period for the Flames, a few quick goals in the 3rd period by the Flames gave them the 3-0 win to advance to the finals.
Great try Lightning!
