Back to League Play for the Lightning
The Pee Wee AA Lightning had two road games against the Mississauga Chief and the Oakville Hornets

The Lighting traveled into Mississauga on Saturday to play the Chiefs, still confident with our win at last weekends tournament in Barrie. The Girls continued their strong play against the Chiefs as we controlled the play the entire game and a bad bounce allowed the Mississauga team to get on the score board very late in the game and some great chances by the Lightning didn't end up on the score sheet. The Lightning goal came from Jordan A who "rifled" a shot in the slot to get our tally and our girls played a strong game on both offense and defense along with some timely saves by KC.

On Sunday we traveled back to the same area of the Province to play a strong Oakville Hornets team who came out flying against our girls getting a 2-0 lead heading into the second. During this game against a stronger team, we made some errors that cost us our goals and these situations are great learning lesson for the girls as we headed into the flood with a 3-0 deficit. Coach Gallagher during the break, challenged the Girls to out play the Oakville team in the third and to learn from our errors and out hustle them on their home ice. The girls definitely came out a much stronger team with some excellent saves by KC and some aggressive play by our Defensive, most notably E Swift and H Melady who made their presence known by the Hornets forwards. We got our goal by a great effort from J Cunningham who got her first goal in AA hockey! Way to go Jamie!!!!

The Lightning are looking forward to our practice sessions this week to work on our challenges that presented themselves on Sunday and then to our games next weekend! Our new season has us at 2-1-3
