Lightning Midget AA Advance to West Final
Submitted by Rob Duncan.The Saugeen Maitland Midget AA Lightning advanced on to the Lower Lakes West Division final with a 1-0 shutout of the Bluewater Hawks Saturday in Strathroy. The defence core of Kailyn Soers, Sarah Biesenthal, Jamie Simpson and Jordyn Sholdice were solid, blocking shots and keeping the puck out of their defensive zone. Harley Westman scored the only goal of the game, lifting one into the top corner through a screen. Sholdice gained the only assist. Morgan Baker shut the door on all Bluewater scoring attempts to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard and earn the shut-out.
