Battered and bruised BAA girls have great weekend!!!!
Battered and bruised BAA girls have great weekend!!!!

With girls missing due to injury and sickness we sure seen the rest of the girls pick their game up to another level. The first game was against Glouchester and the girls came out flying!! Final score 5-0 Saugeen. Our second game was against a young talented Etobicoke team who never let up. Our girls had a very strong defensive game and were able to get a goal late in the second period which was the difference at the end 1-0 Saugeen. On Saturday morning the girls met up with Durham West and pulled off a 3-1 victory. Being 3 and 0 put the BAA girls at the top of their division and a guaranteed spot into Sundays semi final. Saturday evenings game was one, that most of the girls wont forget!! Being down 3-1 after 2 periods is not where they wanted to be against a vary strong and determined Aurora team. In the third period our girls would not let up and it sure paid off as they tied up the game to sent it into overtime. Relentless forechecking and great defensive play paid big dividends in the end. A very hard fought sudden death overtime still did not settle the score which set the table for an exciting shootout. Some stellar goaltending that would make Jonny Bauer proud paid off in the shootout. Final score Saugeen 4-3!!! Off to the semi final on Sunday morning to play the Etobicoke team once again. The girls made no bones about this and played a very strong game all around and won 3-1. This set the table for the finals! A rematch with Aurora who were out for revenge from the night before. This game was an event in itself!! Both teams pounded on each other for 3 periods again to find themselves tied at a goal a piece. Back to overtime again, but fell short by a goal. Aurora 2 Saugeen 1 The girls proved to themselves that they can overcome anything, when they put their minds to it!!!!!
Congratulations on a AWESOME performance this weekend girls!!!
