“Spirit of the Season"
In the “Spirit of the Season”, the Saugeen Maitland Bantam AA Team graciously sponsored a family from the Howick area at Christmas.
Each team member contributed toward the purchase of gift cards for the family and other items were also donated. Our team held a potluck after a game in December and following our meal, the girls worked together to wrap gifts for the family to put under their tree. Giving is better than receiving....and the Bantam AA team is pleased to contribute towards making Christmas a little brighter for those less fortunate in our community at Christmastime.
As you know, our team consists of girls from as far away as Wiarton, Owen Sound, New Hamburg , Mitchell and Goderich. This makes for a difficult decision when choosing a location to direct our “giving” towards, however the choice was not that hard when we put our heads together. The team chose the community of Howick since all of our home games are played out of that arena (so far), we practice there once a week, they let us use the upstairs hall and kitchen for potlucks and the people that run the library, booth and arena are always so good to us and pleasant to deal with at both practices and games.
