Game three the Lightning lost a tough game 2-1 to Syracuse. VanPelt picked up the goal and Baker was in the cage. This ended the round robin part of the tournament and the Bolts ended up in third in the grouping this put them in the B championship round and their first opponent was Little Caesars of Detroit. It was a back and forth game with regulation ended in a scoreless draw. Overtime began and shortly into the extra frame Lawrence sealed the victory with a wrap around goal on a setup from Herman. Ropp picked up the shutout.

Quarter final play began early Sunday morning against Chatham. Less than 4 minutes into the game the Bolts established 2-0 lead on goals by Reeves from VanPelt and Hannah Herman and Terpstra from Biesenthal.  Chatham got one by Baker but that is all she would allow them and Colhoun sealed it from Lawrence and Simpson for a 3-1 victory. Up next in semi’s was Ottawa. Another Bolts victory 2-0. Terpstra from Smith and Zabel and VanPelt from Lawrence. Ropp picked up the win.

In the finals the Lightning faced North Bay. In a hard fought affair the Bolts came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 score. It was a great start to the season for the Lightning. Thanks goes out to the Herman sisters Hailey and Hannah for helping out this weekend. Great weekend of hockey Ladies.
