Peewee A girls continue their winning streak
The Saugeen Maitland Lightning (SML) Peewee A girls continued their winning streak at home in Howick on Saturday November 22, skating a great game against The Bluewater Hawks (Strathroy).

Tori Verbeek opened the scoring at 7:03 in the first period, assisted by Allison Stevenson. Jaydn Williams put another point on the board near the end of the first, assisted by Rylynn Sinclair, after putting the pressure on in front of the net. The girls continued the scoring in the second. Sydney McAsh went to the net unassisted and tallied the third goal at 5:15. This was the only goal in the second period, which left the Hawks scoreless at the end of two periods. The Hawks failed to capitalize on two Maitland penalties in the third period; Allison Stevenson was called for tripping at 8:35, followed by Rylynn Sinclair for cross-checking at 6:40. The penalties did not deter a fourth drive to the net with 1:55 to go in the third. Natalie Fischer netted the final goal unassisted. The girls confidence was set for their next home game the following day in Howick against the London Devilettes.

The Peewee A team would like to thank very much Gerald D'Arcey Construction and D'Arcey Sand & Gravel for sponsoring our team by providing warm up pants for us. We really appreciate your generosity; warming up before a game is so important and all of us being able to wear the same comfortable team pants made us feel great.
Conway Furniture
A great big thank you from the team to Conway Furniture for sponsoring us by providing our practice jerseys. Practices are so important and having different coloured jerseys for each of our forward lines and defence as well as our goalies helped our coaches to make practices run smoothly and pack a lot into them so that we were able to improve to be the team we are today.
