Peewee A Team Off to A Good Start!
The Peewee A team participated in the Markham
Stouffville September Starsfest and brought home a banner, winning the gold
medal on Sunday (Sept. 18th).
The team finished in second place during round robin play, posting a record of two ties and one win. Their standing earned them a bye to the semi-final on Sunday morning. After beating the Buffalo Bisons (3-1) in that semi-final, the girls moved on to the final to face off against the home team, the Markham-Stouffville Stars. Once again the Lightning emerged victorious posting another final score of 3-1. Although it is early in the season this team is coming together nicely and it is showing on the ice. Overall great play as a unified force this weekend led to their success. Congratulations to all of the players and coaching staff. Player of the game honors this weekend went to Lauren Neil, Caelan MacDonald, Ella Gratto, Grace Vokes and Annie MacKinnon.
