Saugeen Maitland Intermediate A Wins Gold in Guelph
Saugeen Maitland Lightning Intermediate A team played in the Guelph Winter Classic this past weekend. The Lightning team rolled off 5 straight wins to take home the Gold Medal. Saugeen Maitland beat Vaughan Flames 3 to 2 in the Finals after playing two five minute overtime periods and then winning a 5 round shoot out.
The Lightning played the entire tournament with 9 skaters and 2 goaltenders due to exams at school. It was a great team effort with different players coming and going.
The Lightning lost the Finals in OT in the Kitchener Tournament two weeks ago so a great start to the season.
