Ancaster Shootout Champions
Submitted By Dave O'Brien on Sunday, October 27, 2019
The Atom A’s had a great weekend at the Ancaster Fall Shootout finishing the weekend as champions.

The weekend began with a tough 1-0 shootout loss against the Barrie Sharks. The loss did not slow the team down as they pulled together to win the next 2 games to make it to the semi finals against the Ancaster Avalanche.  The host team kept the score close in the semi finals but the Atom A’s were able to dig in and come out with the victory.  With that win the team earned the opportunity for a rematch against the Barrie Sharks in the championship game. The Atom A’s were hungry and determined to win and came out playing hard against the Sharks.  Barrie kept the game close through 2 periods of hockey.  Up by a score of 2-1, the Lighting dug in during the 3rd period and put 2 more goals in the net to finish the game with a 4-1 win and earn their first tournament championship of the year!

The determination of each and every player on the team resulted in a lot of time on the attack in the offensive zone throughout the entire tournament weekend.  The team finished the weekend with a 4-0-1 record and a championship trophy for their efforts.

GO Lightning!! #MilkUp
