Saugeen Maitalnd Senior A wins Gold
Saugeen's Senior A team travelled to Kitchener for the Fallfest
Tournament and came away with Gold beating the home team Kitchener team
3-1.
Saugeen started the tournament against the strong Kitchener team losing
5-3 and then defeated Whitby and Auroa to move into the semis.
The Lightning defeated Whitby 2 - 1 in OT skating 3 on 3 with Lexi
Smith scoring the winner with 1 second left in the OT.
In the Finals
Saugeen played a great game getting goals from Ciara Lark and Joelle
Busby to take a 2 to 1 lead with Lexi Smith scoring an empty net goal to
cement the win.
Its been a great start for the new team winning Silver in Ancaster and Gold in Kitchener to start their inaugural season.
