Lightning Bring home the Gold in the Regional Silverstick Tournament

Saugeen PWAA went to Sarnia this past weekend and had an outstanding weekend of hockey. In the preliminary round we played the host team Sarnia,and a hard fought battle seen our Saugeen girls pull off the first win.
On saturday we met up with Ancaster for the morning game and beat them 3-0. With Stratford winning both their games , that put Saugeen in a position that we would have to win if we wanted to secure 1st in our division. This brought in our last game of the day which was against Buffalo and this game ended in a 12-0 win for the Lightning.
On Sunday Morning we had a very early game against Ancaster for the semi final match,and again our girls took it to another level and won 4-0. This set the stage for the final game in which all the kids were aiming for. The home town team of Sarnia would be challenging us once again. Our girls were quick out of the gate and scored 2 first period goals and had a great fore check all game. Final score was 5-0 for our girls. Congrats on gold at Silverstick girls!!
