Player Development Announcement!
The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Executive is excited to announce that Jeff Alcombrack will be joining us as a player development coach for the 2026–2027 season.
Jeff brings a wealth of experience both on and off the ice. A Kincardine native, he played his minor hockey locally and was a Bulldog at just 15 years old. He went on to be drafted by the Sarnia Sting and played Junior B with the Owen Sound Greys. Jeff enjoyed a successful professional career spanning 9 years, including one season in Sweden and eight years in the United States. Following his playing career, Jeff has remained deeply involved in the game. He has coached at multiple levels, including serving as head coach of the Kincardine Jr. C Bulldogs, as well as coaching the Ripley Wolves, and KDSS Knights high school team. In addition, he has operated a highly respected on- and off-ice training program for local athletes for over 15 years.
Jeff’s passion for developing players and his extensive hockey background will be a tremendous asset to our organization. We are excited for our players to learn and grow under his guidance this upcoming season.
Welcome to SML, Jeff!
