Lightning and Thunder Clash
Saugeen skated to a three goal lead and withheld Guelph's comeback winning 3-2.
Saugeen stormed to a quick lead scoring the first 3 goals. Tori Terpstra scoring her 30th goal of the year opened the scoring with a qucik shot upstairs getting assists from Taylor MacDonald and Janine Vandershot.
Tori Harshman scored early in the second assited by Terpstra and Jordyn Sholdice. Tori Harshman scored her second of the game and eventual game winner on a breakaway goal in the first 2 minutes of the 3rd. Guelph stormed back with 2 third period goals to make it an exciting finish.
"Our girls played 1 and 1/2 periods of dominating hockey and then set back and let Guelph back into the game" commented coach Greg. Overall a big win by the girls and a chance to play well in the last 6 games of regular season and move up in the standings. We need playoff hockey starting now!
MVP's of the game were Ally Spielmacher and Tori Terpstra... Good job girls!
