Lightning Strikes Rangers
Saugeen squared off in a rematch of a few weeks ago where the Rangers stormed back from a 2 goal deficit to win 3-2 but had no luck this time as Saugeen took the big 2 points with a 2-1 score
Emma MacMillan notched her first goal as a Saugeen player in a goal mouth scramble to open the scoring in the first assisted from Rebecca Rier.
On a pretty 3 way passing play Tori Harshman deflected a Tori Terpstra pass to open a 2 goal lead in the second.
With shades of last game against the Rangers, Kitchener came out hard in the third. Saugeen ran into 5 penalties and played most of the period shot handed. Kitchener scored a power play late in the third to get within one but Saugeen kept the puck deep in the Rangers end to end the game.
Kitchener out shot the Lightning 31-19 but Rebecca played excellent and made a few key saves. Great job! The MVP's of the game were Emma MacMillan and Rebecca Rier. A double header Sunday at home against Bemont and London is up next. We are currently tied for 4th with Belmont , so a big 2 games. Play hard girls!
