Bantam A, 2015-2016 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning)

A three game stand over the weekend of November 27th to 29th left the Saugeen Maitland Bantam A Lightning unable to put a charge in their scoring and their advance up the standings in league play. The resulting power outage left the girls with a tie and two losses.

Continued improvement in the offensive zone helped the Saugeen Maitland Bantam A Lightning pepper two tough opponents with scoring opportunities on the weekend. Combined with strong skating and sound defense, the SML ladies outshot both Waterloo and Guelph, with both opposing goalies recording shutouts during a weekend of disappointing results for the Lightning.

Recently the nation’s capital was a challenge for the Saugeen Maitland Lightning Bantam A team as they struggled to put their best foot forward, ending their pursuit of the podium at the 33rd Annual Competitive Tourney in Kanata from November 13th to 15th  in the semi-finals losing to the Nepean Wildcats 3 to 1.

Saugeen Maitland Lightning Bantam A team made it a clean sweep this past weekend as they recorded two wins in league play. Improved puck possession and relentless skating helped power the Lightning as they out worked and wore down North Halton and Woolwich to improve their position in league standings.

The following players are invited to attend the tryout exhibition game on Saturday May 2nd in Walkerton at 3:00 p.m. vs Stratford Aces.
