Annual General Meeting Update

The AGM was held on May 10th at the Howick arena.  There was thirteen in attendance including Joanne Innes, Western Director for OWHA.  Wendy Lantz, Vice-Chair, called the meeting to order at 7pm.


2010-11 Financial Report
Howie Pruden presented Treasurer’s Report.  The Association finished the year with a $9,000 deficit due in part to lower roster numbers and printing costs for sponsor books.  The treasurer presented a cost per team analysis indicating per player registration fees required to fund the team for the 2011-12 season.

SMWHA Constitution Amendments
Don Bushell presented proposed constitution amendments to the membership.  Each amendment was discussed and approved.  The following amendments were revised:
Section D  D2 amendment reworded to read: The committee’s Executive members with voting privileges include: Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Ice Scheduler, Equipment Manager, Webmaster, 2 positions of Director at Large.  Chairperson will not be part of the initial vote but will hold the tie breaking vote if required. Past Chair will be a non-voting position but now be referred to as Resource Person. 
 Section K Amendment reworded as follows:  All SMWHA players must wear a mouth guard while on the ice at the discretion of the trainer and/or parent.

Immediately following the AGM adjournment at 9pm, the SMWHA Committee held a meeting and appointed Shirley Bushell to the Vice Chairperson position.
