Moment of Silence for the familes in Connecticut
Saugeen Maitland and Sarnia Sting Midget A teams took a time out to reflect upon the tragedy in Connecticut staging a minute of silence to open the game between the two teams on Saturday afternoon.
"We continue to talk to our players that lessons learned in hockey are life lessons and this tragedy really strikes home on the importance of what is really important in life. We get upset about wins and losses, why I don't get more ice time and who I like or not and we then see things like this happening. We need to remember we are playing a game and there are things happening in the world that make our problems seem petty."
"We send our prayers and thoughts to these families tonight".
