Organization Update - Teams, Tryouts, Registration
Submitted By Sue Davey on Monday, July 26, 2021
Welcome to the 2021– 2022 Saugeen Maitland Lightning (SML) Season. SML will have a U13 AA team, U15 AA and U15 A teams and U18 AA and U18 A teams. Intermediate A and Senior A are still an option if we get some coaches. There will not be a U11 team this year.

Tryouts begin August 14th for the AA teams. The A team tryouts will be held in early September. Tryout schedules are posted on the SML website.
- Tryout Schedule

The tryout fee is $50 per person. This fee gives you the first two posted skates guaranteed. If you do not make an AA team, there are no additional fees for the A team tryout.

We have been informed by the OWHA that there will be a regular season of 22 games with playoffs and Provincials. Tournaments will be allowed starting October. Teams are not allowed to play games at this point.

Fees will be $2,200 for the U13 AA team and $2,400 for the U15 and U17 teams. Fees include games, practices, tournaments, playoffs and Provincials. We anticipate 60 practices, 5 tournaments and 50 + games.

The SML Registration Login is available through the link below. We have set up a returning Player Package for tryouts. Coaches, Managers, Trainers and Executive need to register as well.

For those trying out with Permission to Skate, the OWHA will have a registration package available in the near future.
