Ally Denstedt comes to us from the Huron Perth Lakers AAA association. This will be her second season coaching, but her first in role as a head coach as well as with the Saugeen Maitland Lightning.

The Stratford native played u15AA and u18AA for Saugeen Maitland Lightning before heading to the PWHL (now the u22 Elite) for her next two seasons. In 2017-18 she was a member of the K-W Rangers and in 2018-19 was a member of the London Jr Devilettes in the PWHL.

In 2015-16, Denstedt was a member of the Saugeen U15 AA team who found gold at provincials. In her 2018-19 season with the London Jrs she not only won provincial gold, but also fulfilled a storybook ending in winning the Alumni Cup at the PW’s final four tournament for a double crown.

Denstedt had earned herself an athletic scholarship to the University of Guelph. After her first year she was nominated the next two seasons for Guelph’s Tawnya Gvoich Scholarship for women in sports; demonstrating exemplary characteristics in leadership. She was apart of the Gryphons Women’s hockey team for three seasons before seeing her playing days cut short due to injury.

Denstedt is studying at the University of Guelph where, she is currently working towards graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree with a double major in French and Sociology. Within the next few months she hopes to be accepted into a B.Ed program as she wants to pursue a career in teaching French as a second language
