Peewee SML VS. Parents
SML PEE WEE’S SUFFER DEVASTATING LOSS With only eight skaters and two goalies, the SML pee wee girls came out strong as ever and jumped into a controlling 3 goal lead.
With (shoot the bullet) Reeves, (top shelf) Eckert, (water bug) Smith, (wheels) Dales and (charging) Hepburn playing hard, the girls controlled most of the play in opposition’s end of the arena. (hands) Herman, (the wall) Atkins, and (not in my backyard) Bre Becker fairly easily handled any of the slowly developed charges mounted by much older, larger, and somewhat arthritic parents, and siblings.
As time progressed, the smaller numbers subsided to the full bench of parents and siblings and the old school tactics, passing, and checking became a challenge to the girls. As the clock ticked, the parents and siblings mounted a slow comeback and even surpassed the girls in the dying moments of the game.
With (the puck stops here) Cassidy Becker and (stoned you) Monica Rankin minding the nets, both girls played awesome as they were peppered with shots (mainly from the own team-mates).
All in all, everybody had fun and enjoyed themselves. We would like to thank all that made this day and game possible and hope to see all girls, brothers, and parents out again. Submitted by: Vic Hepburn
