Saugeen Battles Stratford
Submitted by Aron VanPelt
Congrats girls on the finishing of a strong weekend of hockey. On Sunday the PWA girls had a hard fought battle with the Stratford Aces. We found ourselves with our backs to the wall early in the game as Stratford came to play. Down 1-0 early on, and with The Aces banging away at our net the girls found a way to tie the game up. Stratfords relentless forechecking and great goaltending kept the game real close. Some questionable calls to both teams opened the door to Saugeens Powerplay. Saugeen capitalized on their first pp to make the score 2-1, until The Aces once again didn't give up and deadlocked the game 2-2. A 3rd period power play goal seemed to put the icing on the cake.
