Lightning Strikes against Sabres
Submitted by Adam Nolan. The Saugeen Maitland girls team travelled to Brampton on Saturday Oct 13 to play the Canadettes.
The girls played a strong game, but were out played by a fast and talented Brampton team, and ended the game on the losing end with a score of 6-1. The lone Lightning goal was scored by Kara Colhoun.
On Sunday, the team travelled to Stoney Creek to take on the Sabres. The girls played to win against the Sabres with a strong effort between the pipes from Julia Beaven and came out on top with a winning score of 2-1.
Goals were scored by Kelsey Mighton with the assist going to Alyssa Andrews, and the winner with 6 seconds left by Jennelle Smeltzer. Excellent effort by the whole team!
