Saugeen Maitland Midget A team travelled to Cambridge and came home with the Gold Medal. In an epic battle the score was Guelph 1 Saugeen 1 after 3 periods of the Gold Medal game. After a 3 minute 3 on 3 OT it was followed by a 2 minute 2 on 2 and followed by a shoot out. The game was decided on the 5 th shooter as Saugeen scored and Guelph was stopped to give Gold to Saugeen.

Saugeen went undefeated in the 6 games tying 2 in the round robin with a win included. Saugeen played Niagara Rapids in the Quarter Finals and trailing 1 -0 after 2 periods came back with 2 third period goals to send SML to the Semis.
Saugeen played Windsor with the winner going to Sunday finals. Saugeen took a lead and in the tight game Saugeen cemented the winner with an empty net goal with goaltender Marissa Cottingham giving Saugeen the shut out win.
