Bantam A, 2019-2020 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning)

Our girls and families travelled to Cambridge this past weekend to play in the 26th Annual New Years' Challenge Cup.  Overall, it was a great weekend with excellent efforts on the ice by the girls and coaches and even more fun and memories made off the ice as a larger hockey family.  We celebrated a milestone birthday, upheld our team meal traditions and, some even came away sporting new hairdos (er... colours)!

Our Bantam A hockey family travelled to Buffalo this past weekend for the annual RUSH Inferno tournament.  We drove down on a rainy and windy Halloween night to be ready for round robin play on Friday. 

Well done Lightning!   Our Bantam A team is off to a great start with two more wins this weekend!  That brings them to 3 Ws to start league play this season.  Our girls are coming together well and should be proud of their play and their sportsmanship.  Every player has contributed to putting points on the board and both goalies are playing lights out in the net.  It's exciting to watch them develop!  Hard work and dedication really do pay off! #milkUP

Our team travelled to Oshawa this past weekend for the Fall Classic tournament.  The girls put forth a strong effort, played hard and, had so much FUN!  They came out on top of their pool over Friday and Saturday and then won in the Semifinals on Sunday morning.  In a tough competition on Sunday afternoon, they came out with the silver medal in the Championship game.  This was a great start the season and the girls should be very proud of their accomplishment! #milkUP

 A Mother's Day at the rink. The Bantam A's travelled to Cambridge yesterday for an exhibition game. It was up early and on the road for many our girls. Sorry to the moms for that on your day, I wanted the girls to have a game with the finalized roster before the break for summer. The girls had a great energy about them during the pre-game talk, and that energy channelled from there to the ice. The girls played a great game, and the outcome I'm sure brought some joy to the moms on their day, the dads, and grandparents who attended.      Well done, and congratulations girls on making the ...
