Lighnting Strike Stingers
On Sunday November 21/10, the Saugeen Maitland Lightning Peewees hosted a double header to the Sarnia Sting
In the first game, SML hosted the Lady Sting in Normanby and we saw 2 strong teams handle the puck and play to get on the score board. With good effort from both teams we saw a 0-0 tie in the first period. Another battle of the puck erupted in the second period as both teams played hard giving the audience a good performance and leaving the second period with a 0-0 score. In came the third period and saw Saugeen on the scoreboard. The Sting fought back and shortly evened the score making the game a 1-1 score. With time passing quickly, all the girls moved fast, stickhandled and produced 1 last goal with a few minutes left in the game. In the end Saugeen took the win with a 2-1 final score.
In the second game, SML hosted Sarnia in Belmont. The pressure was high and both teams were driven to play a hard game. In the first period, the goal belonged to SML making the game a 1-0 lead. Second period was played with determination but no goals got in past the goalies. Third period saw 2 teams play battle of the ice as both teams were very even and intense. Sarnia stung back with a goal, making the game a 1-1 tie. End result of the game saw a 1-1 tie. Both games were exciting and full of action with great effort from both teams.
