SML PeeWee AA bring home Bronze Medal from the Provincials

UNBELIEVABLE Weekend for PWAA
This past weekend, the PWAA girls travelled to Mississauga for the BIG tournament they were looking forward to the most.
After being bumped up to AA in January the PW girls just proved what hard work and believing in yourself can do. The first game saw Saugeen up against Kingston, great fore-check and a complete team effort turned into a 3-0 win. Our second game of the day was against Aurora and it took everthing the girls had to squeek out a 2-1 win. On Saturday morning,we found ourselves fighting for the top spot in our division with our next opponent Brampton. After a hard physical game with Brampton we came away with a 1-0 win. This 3-0 record now set the stage for the quarter final game against Glouchester. With the medal round in the back of these girls minds, nothing was gonna stop them now. The girls came out flying and never really looked back, final score 4-1 Saugeen.
On Sunday morning we ran into a very strong Leaside team, and we knew we were in for the game of our lives. The girls came to play, but ran into some unbelievable goaltending from this Leaside team. After outworking, outplaying, heavily outshooting this Leaside team, the girls still came up short in a 2-0 lose. After the semi-final lose the girls had to muster up enough courage and strength to face a strong London team for the Bronze medal. With back to back action and great play from both ends of the ice,our girls got the break they needed and got the first goal, on again a very strong London goaltender. The one goal seemed to be enough for the girls to close the door on any hopes of London getting back into the game. Final score 1-0 Saugeen PWAA!!!!
Congrats to all the girls and THANK YOU for an awesome year!!
