Peewee A, 2016-2017 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning)

The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Peewee A team finished off their memorable 2016/17 season by establishing themselves as a solid contender amongst the top four teams in the province.

The Saugeen Maitland Peewee A team clinched their berth to the LLFHL Weekend Championship this past Sunday (Mar. 26th) with a 2-1 win over the Waterloo Ravens in the third and final game of the Round 3 playoff series.

The Peewee A team clinched their berth for the OWHA Provincial Championships this past weekend.

The Peewee A team participated in the Cambridge Roadrunner’s New Year’s Challenge Cup this past weekend and brought home a silver medal.

The Peewee A team travelled to Kitchener this past weekend to attend the Kitchener Fallfest Tournament and brought home another banner. After a less than impressive round robin the girls pulled up their socks and won every game that mattered, eventually capturing gold. The girls opened the tournament with a 2-0 loss to Waterloo, followed by two ties with Brantford (1-1) and Kitchener (0-0) respectively.
