Bantam AA, 2018-2019 (Saugeen Maitland Lightning)

1st of 3 against Guelph.This weekend past weekend we played a home and home with Guelph. We went there on Saturday night. First period maybe wasn’t the cleanest we have seen them play but they come out of it with a 0-0 score. In the second Guelph gets up on the board first. Girls are starting to get more chances on net. It stays 1-0 Guelph at the end of the second. The girls found their rhythm in the third. 15 seconds into the third Kloey Jex scores assisted by Jillian Goldie. Next goal comes from defense Brooke Barclay unassisted.  M. Nickason

Sunday we played the Bluewater hawks. Girls came out with some jump in the skates.  No slow moving holiday feet for these girls, they came out to win. First period was fast paced and ended with 0-0. Into the second period we are leading in shots 8-6. Ella Black feeds Kennedy Stauffer who puts it in the net. 1st goal is on the board. Not long after Ella black Intercepts Bluewater’s play, which leads to a turn over where Kennedy Stauffer slaps the puck in the net again. 

  First of 3 was an away game at the Gemini Arena against the Bluewater Hawks. Not much happened in the first the score was 0-0 . The second brings some nice chances set up by Kloey Jex, but the score stays at 0-0. Kennedy Caldwell starts to get some action and stays strong. Kennedy Caldwell is keeping the puck out of the net, well she gets lots of action during Waterloo’s power play.  In the second Kennedy McGregor scores to put us ahead assisted by Kloey Jex. In the third one squeezed by Kennedy Caldwell to make it 1-1. The game stays at a 1-1 tie.

USA CANADA CUP SERIES WEEKEND GAME 1: Girls started the weekend off playing Scarborough. We are on the board first, goal scored by Taylor Chegahno from Ella Gratto and Jordon Rowe. Grace making some great saves but 1 got through to make it a 1-1 game. Kennedy McGregor and Ella Black set up Kennedy Stauffer for our 2nd goal. Lighting lighting it up in front of Scarborough’s net, at least 6 shots in 10 seconds. Maya Robinson was robbed of a goal as their defence made a fluke save. Girls still playing strong. Great combined effort today. Started off strong today, all our offence is looking good. 1st goal is put in by Kennedy McGregor  assisted by Ella Black with 6mins left in the 1st period.2nd goal was a nice pass from Kloey Jex to Taylor Chegahno who puts it in. 3rd goal was in the second and this time it was from Taylor Chegahno to Kloey Jex. Lighting very much dominating this game so far. Cheif is getting cold today, all though when shots came she was still strong.
