The
first place Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA won a pair of home games on
the weekend and ran their league record to 15 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties.
On Saturday, Owen Sound’s Shea Tiley stopped all 17 shots from the London Devilettes and Port Elgin’s Kelly Gribbons chipped in a pair of goals to lead the Lightning to a 3-0 victory. Sundays game saw Saugeen edge the Kitchener Rangers 2-1 with Gribbons picking up her third goal of the weekend and Stephanie Sluys earning the win in net.
Ripley’s Laura Irwin kept her goal scoring streak going, picking up a goal in each game while assists were awarded to Brittany Hymers (2), Kaitlyn Soers, Kelly Garrow, Lindsey Dales, Hailey Herman and Stacie Vink.
