It’s been a tumultuous two weeks of
playoff hockey for the Pee Wee A squad that’s for sure. In the OWHA series there
was some heartbreak as the Lady Lightning were unable to secure a spot in the
Provincial tournament as they dropped the deciding game three in a double OT
barn burner on Thursday night to the Stratford Aces. We wish them good fortune
in April.
No time to hang the heads as the
second round of LLFHL playoff action resumed Saturday in the Forest City. In a
true test of grit and determination the girls put the past behind them as they
brought their work boots out and evened the series vs London.
Sunday had a familiar feeling as the game three final was once again back home. Same tension and excitement but a different outcome as this time the girls were able to pull out the W in another epic battle that took the teams to a shootout.
The girls have now earned to right to compete against the Windsor Wildcats for the right to represent the West loop in the LLFHL Final Four. Both series have provided the ladies with invaluable growth opportunities the world of competitive sport provides. The final series should be another great one!
