Saugeen traveled to Toronto this weekend for Provincials and ended up with a win and 2 losses. SML lost the first two games 3-1 in the pool , both times pulling the goal tender in the final minute looking for the tying goal and getting scored upon. Both games we had lots of chances but could not get a second goal...

Game three we played Vaughan who needed a win to move on and Saugeen jumped to a 3 goal lead into the third...Vaughan turned up the heat and scored 2 and pulled the goal tender but Kendra Schultz hit the open net to cement the win 4 - 2.  Read More

Saugeen Intermediates took home the Bronze this past weekend defeating Hamilton 4 to 1 in the final game.  Saugeen started the tournament with a 1 to 1 tie against the Hamilton Hawks and then beat Kitchener 2-0 in the night game. Saugeen then lost 2 -0 to Cambridge to set up a semi final game against the Cambridge team later that night.

Saugeen and Cambridge skated to a scoreless tie after regulation with Cambridge scoring a lone goal in the shoot out. Player of the game went to Amanda Gans who got the shut out in regulation and played awesome to give Saugeen the opportunity to move on. Read More

Saugeen travelled to Detroit over the weekend and won all 5 games taking home the Gold Medal. Saugeen beat Buffalo 2 to  0 in the Finals. Saturday night Saugeen defeated Armstrong PA rated # 1 in the US 4 to 1 in the semis.

 Tournament MVP Amanda Gans allowed only 2 goals over the 5 games with SML scoring 20. " The girls played awesome all weekend on a short bench with  4 regulars missing. Great job ladies!"

The team is 8-0-1 in the last 9 games.
